I peg this piece to be around 1988 or 1989. I was in high school. I had been forced to go to a lot of art classes when I was younger and had tried my hand at pastels, charcoals, watercolor, you name it. In high school I enjoyed art class but really only did some theory and calligraphy. In my free time after the class had long ended, I kept the big old sketchbook and worked with seems to be a combination of crayon and colored pencils.

The things I find amusing about this so many years later is how much still reflects my tastes. The exaggerated hourglass curves, the high-collared catsuit, the overt inflatable implications, and that smirk...that's all stuck with me and that's still what I'm into. I think most of the characters in my stories are smartass redheads, so that kind of bears this relic out.

I couldn't get the hair color I really wanted, or even one color hair. I also apologize for the strange nose. But I was happy with the shading around the edges to imply curves, and while I don't recall what I named her, I know I always had a thing for the name Maggie, so there you go. She's Maggie now.

Wow, now I have a character to ask people to draw for me! :)

I'm really embarrassed about all the stuff I do to. When my girlfriend first asked to see my work, I completely flipped out and hid my portfolio so that no one in their right mind (which of course I am not) would find it. Now, though, we've been together almost ten years, and she knows about my little fetish. In fact, she is very supportive, regardless of how strange she may think it is.

I always feel like a horrible person about it all though, like I'm doing something dirty.

I like this Maggie, though. She looks like fun to draw.

You're only doing something dirty if you let yourself feel that way. It took me a long time to realize, hey, I'm a consenting adult; I can enjoy what I want in the privacy of my own life and home. If you give this weird idea a place to run around, it doesn't get in the way of the rest of your life. That's how I've managed to strike a balance, anyway.

Should the spirit move you, go to town with Maggie.
